Designers aren’t often known for their development skills. But for a recent client, I "developed" a site using Sculpin, a static site generator that uses Twig templates, PHP, Markdown files, and from my perspective, a little bit of magic to create the final product.  

In this presentation, I will take you on a guided tour of the site I built, focusing on:

• What Twig is, and why I found it so easy / awesome / powerful / amazing / magical
• A little bit about the Twig filters, functions, includes, and extended templates that I used
• How (and why) I created the site in Sculpin

You’ll walk away with a clearer picture of the potential of Sculpin and Twig, and how Palantir's design team is using these tools to prepare for D8.
